A young by the name of David just stopped by my shop. He was carrying a book. I asked him about it. He showed it to me and gave an example of the biblical illustrations it uses. "For example," he said, "Benaiah, the man who went into a pit in a snow storm and killed a lion." I was surprised. I didn't remember that Bible story. Well, he got me on that one.
2 Samuel 23:20-21
New International Version (NIV)
20 Benaiah(A) son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel,(B) performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. 21 And he struck down a huge Egyptian. Although the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear.
